Very useful By Elda Elizondo Much has been written about using technology in the language classroom, but very few books are as clear, direct, and useful as this one. It gives a brief description of activities and sites, and then lets you go and explore sites on your own. I loved every idea. Thanks for letting me read it. the book is well thought and will be a hit with language teachers around the world. I wish you the best!

By Gary Wolff As one in my 16th year of teaching English to Japanese university students, I can honestly say this book is the best compilation of technology teaching tips I've seen so far. And I agree with the previous review by MRB, that at only 99 cents, this book is a real steal. Jam-packed with a wealth of recommended resources for incorporating technology into our teaching, including automatic speech recognition, collaborative online learning, use of cloud services, creating digital texts, presentation techniques, classroom management tools, etc., the book contains what appear to be well over 200 URL links for further info. If I may offer just one suggestion, it'd be to add a table of contents to assist with navigation among the various sections. Keep up the great work, Professor Raine!

Practical ideas you can try out in your next lesson By Ricardo Barros I consider myself to be a tech-savvy person, but even so there was a lot to like about this book. As one other reviewer said, you can't get a better bargain than 50 tips for under a dollar. Most of the tips are clrearly explained and there is often more than one app or website suggested for each tip (which means you're getting even more bang for your buck). There's a reminder in the very beginning of the book that rang true to me: it's important to strike a balance between high and low tech activities. So, I've used speech recognition with students this week and it was both fun and profitable. It helped raising their awareness of a couple of pronunciation problems they have and that are difficult to point out. They also enjoyed the fact that their mobile phones were being put to use, whereas I'm usually the one who tells them to keep the phones in their backpacks. I also want to try using Quizlet with the same group, although that will take a little longer to get going, I think. The one negative think I have to say is I wish the cover was related to technology somehow. I realize it's nit-picking, but as a book lover covers are something I always pay attention to and this one makes me thing of teaching unplugged rather than teaching with technology.
