From picture books to MG to YA, as well as children’s magazines, Chris shares tips from her years (and multiple published novels) of experience. You will learn about POV, plotting, structure, genre, tone, sub plots, setting, theme, editing, and more. I have two children’s picture books on my computer, and, after reading this book, I know what I need to do to make them better. I was so inspired by Chris’s advice that I started a serious outline on a romantic novel I’ve been thinking about for more than two years.This book has specific tips for both fiction and non-fiction markets, quotes from numerous others in the industry; it lists multiple, helpful resources, and beta reading, critique group, and editing tips.If you have thought of writing a book for children, this book will take you from the “idea” stage all the way through to the “finished” stage.

Each chapter has a tip section as well as specific resources, concrete examples, and easy to understand explanation of terms and topics. Excellent book!
