By ahappybrit Adam, still a "Lucid", and still wanting the world to return to normal, is taken to a facility in which he is prodded, poked and tested in an attempt to discover why he remains that way. He can only make feeble attempts to escape even after he discovers that his family is in another part of the facility.David still wants to mold the world to his desires by taking advantage of everything human and technological that is (or will be) available to him. He is becoming fascinated by this "lab rat", and studies everything that's been discovered about Adam and his family. Both men will get unpleasant surprises.Adam and his family are rescued by some Lucids, and though neither Adam nor the other Lucids expected that leaving the facility would be easy, neither did they expect the extent of the effort to make them return to it.That effort includes David, and it also includes a fatal event that further threatens to end Adam's resolve. But Adam's determination reasserts itself, while David has to recover himself. And while these two men battle, one with bravery and the other with supreme confidence, the world is becoming caught between them.

A modern-day technothriller that tells of a very real global issue By Brian 4.5 out of 5 stars.Pick up where the first book left off, flipping back and forth between modern day and a former event that may have started the whole issue of Supression. Follow Adam as he tries to figure out where he was taken to and what is going to happen to him and his family. This is the second book/episode in this series. At the point of writing this, I do not know how many episodes they are planning on writing, but I’m intrigued. I definitely want to know what happens and how this all started. This felt faster than the first one, but I was in a reading mood today and devoured this in one sitting. Thacker & Tumlinson are a great writing team. I cannot tell where one stops and the other begins. Prepare for amazing things coming from these two in the future, I think this is the beginning of another great writing duo.The episode had a proper ending unlike some in this genre/style of writing, but it is leaving me wanting more and more. I really wish more episodes were available for my instant consumption.I was given a copy of this book before its release by the author in exchange for an honest review.

By Annette Jones First off, in the spirit of transparency, I was provided a free copy of this book in exchange for a review. Now that that's out of the way, on to the review. I did enjoy this book quite a bit. However; it reads like an episode of a TV show, which I suppose is the intention of the authors. When reading a book, I like things to be more fleshed out, taking more time to explain the build-up to the situation and character development. That being said, it is an enjoyable story, very readable and fast-paced. You do need to read Episode One to know what's going on in Episode Two, this is not a stand-alone story by any means. Overall, I enjoyed it and would recommend it, especially to people who love episodic television.
