About the Author Lisa and her five siblings grew up in a blended, working class family whose parents were small business owners. With a major in English and a minor in theater, Lisa fondest memories out of college were teaching pre-school children to learn to learn through the written word at the family operated day care center. Kaiser On Christmas morning, my nieces and nephews (ages 3 - 7) gravitated to the fresh images and bright colors of "The Zealous Zebecs from the Midnight Ocean's Zenith." It was fun to watch how the illustrations drew them in and the word play held their interest. This is a longer children's book suitable for breaking into short reading increments with your child or you might find that your own Zebec may push for extending reading to find out what happens next! No worries! There are many different ways to read and enjoy this book together.
3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. BEST EDUCATIONAL BOOK YET!!!! By Robert Rabin This book was absolutely fabulous for my almost 5 year old twins. They are very into the alphabet at this stage The Zebecs was PERFECT. We had a great time while reading the book. After every page we stopped and let them figure out which letter the page was keying on. Once they figured the letter we then did the letter hunt to find the capital and lower case hidden in the illustration. By far one of the best educational books we have bought yet. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I love the alliteration, imaginative adventures, and descriptive illustrations embedded with hidden letters. It's truly an interactive book because it's written so that an older child or an adult can read one page of the book while the emerging reader can read the next page which is written at their level. It's fun as well as educational. Lisa Baker-King truly wrote a book that promotes children's love of learning.
