4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. A great example of a colonization novel By Auryn This was a shockingly good book. I was looking for something a little different - but not too different - and I got it. While the basic premise is pretty standard (Earth is running out of space and corporate corruption is rampant) it was handled in a unique and refreshing way. The characters all had their own story arc, the plot was complex enough to keep me guessing until the end (with a little twist there, too), and the storytelling was done very well.The author is well written, and while I found a couple of minor editing issues (I think two?) they weren't any worse than what is typical in a traditionally published "blockbuster" novel. Granted, I probably wouldn't have purchased this book normally, but it was definitely worth taking a chance on with Kindle Unlimited, and I'm very glad I did.

By Jennifer Parker I really thoroughly enjoyed reading this, I enjoy reading a lot of different kinds of books but I am not often completely knocked of guard and surprised by a book. This one got me and I loved it! Can't wait to see where the writer goes next. I'm hooked!
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Great first book of a series. By Dacy Earth is corrupt, overpopulated, and in terrible shape environmentally. The government has sent ships full of people to live on other planets in other galaxies in an effort to ease the overpopulation of Earth. This story follows several people on their journey towards a new life and the trials and tribulations they face along the way.Typically stories with several main characters fall flat to me, but I was invested in them all throughout the book. Peters also has a knack for building up the suspense with one character and then switching to another character's story line at the highest point of suspense. Thanks, Peters. (Do you detect my sarcasm?) Be warned that if you read this book (and you should) that you'll want to read it one sitting, so make sure you have a good bit of free time before you start it.This book was written as the first in a trilogy, and I can't wait for the next one. The story is exciting, surprising, depressing, and hopeful all rolled into one book. I highly recommend it.
