Review What an amazing book! Dr. Bond really gets into the mind of her subjects, and this one on Hillary Rodham Clinton is no exception. The reader can easily imagine Clinton sitting in a comfortable chair across from the imaginary Dr. Dale, spilling her heart and her secrets, a cup of tea beside her, and her smartphone carefully switched off for 50 minutes at a time. But that doesn't mean there's no meat here. Bond's portrayal of Clinton delves into her background, her relationship with Bill (with all of its ups and downs), her years as a lawyer and as the family breadwinner, and how she feels about motherhood and grandmotherhood. Bond's earlier books dealt with women who have already entered into history; Clinton is her first one dealing with a living person. --Ann Beardsley, Author, Historical Dictionary of NASA and the Space ProgramWith her most recent tome, Hillary Rodham Clinton On The Couch, Dr. Alma H. Bond has once again used her skills as a psychoanalyst, combined them with extensive research, and put together a fascinating look at the life of her subject, this time the former first lady, Hillary Rodham Clinton . . . She has skillfully assembled a vivid chronicle of a strong woman who has faced immense challenges throughout her life and was able to pull through no matter how painful the journey. Bond's take on the details of this captivating woman are compelling and convincing, even if you, like many, don't like Hillary and, as many will do, question her accomplishments if she decides to run for President. --Norm Goldman, Publisher, BookPleasures.comIn the fourth installment of her 'On the Couch' series, famed female biographer Dr. Alma Bond looks inside the head and life of the presidential frontrunner and informs voters what she's found. This is the most original concept I've come across! And what an extraordinary read! I felt like a fly on the wall in Dr. Darcy Dale's office, as the author has a gift for depicting a situation as if it is actually occurring. Every chapter was an open doorway to a room full of intimate details about the former First Lady, which made the sessions more realistic. From birth to Benghazi, and beyond, this novel explores Clinton in a most enjoyable, and sometimes heartbreaking, manner. I'm not a colossal fan of politics, but Hillary Rodham Clinton has always intrigued me. I've read several articles in the past, but her story has more depth than I originally considered. The bibliography is quite extensive; therefore, this was getting several points of reference at once. When you consider what this woman has been through and how she persevered, it's hard not to admire her. Alma H. Bond, Ph.D. has delivered a powerful interpretation of an enigmatic figure! An extraordinary book and a great read. I think it's brilliant! --Literary Melting Pot

I will say I despise Clinton and think she embodies everything wrong with big machine politics but this book is just wrong.Bond does what NO credible therapist would even consider doing-making judgments on a person she has never met up close. She has only viewed the subject from afar meaning her research is gleamed from media reports and NOTHING from the candidate directly to Bond. While I may well agree with many of Bond’s theories and conclusions, they are reached through the same methods she has used and not through any special knowledge of or interaction with her subject. Anyone feel like giving me $10-$20 bucks plus S&H so I can tell you my thoughts? Heck you can also get them from the commentators for free on Fox news.I think Hillary would be a disaster of epic proportions as a president with her near open contempt for common people and a sense of elitist entitlement she embodies everything wrong in a presidential candidate in one bundle, but for anyone claiming to be a therapist to ask YOU to pay money for her musings on a subject she has spent NO time with is just wrong. Not just morally but ethically as well.
2 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Examining the Riddle That is Hillary Clinton By Dee Long The author of this book, who was a psychoanalyst for almost four decades, uses the clever device of taking on the persona of a fictitious therapist named Dr. Dale in order to hold imaginary sessions with former First Lady Hillary Clinton as a client. Readers will come away with a better understanding of what drives Clinton in her political career, her marriage to an unfaithful partner, and her new role as grandmother. Whether or not you agree with the judgments and observations made by the author after her extensive study of Clinton, you will likely see Clinton in a more compassionate light after learning about her emotionally abusive childhood and other turning points and influences in her life that have made it difficult for people to really get to know what makes her tick.

First of all the author bases an absurd not to mention tediously boring analysis of Hillary based on books she has read and some of those listed in the very thin bibliography were factually wrong clip jobs. She also has a major error that Hillary took drugs basing this assumption on a statement by a silly story that was written as a spoof.I fail to understand why this book was even published. If one wants to learn more about Hillary, read biographies by respected journalists.
