Didn't expect to like this but it pulled me in By Emma Rogers Just want to start by saying I'm not a fan of zombie fiction - or at least I didn't used to be. I had this idea in my head of what it would be and it was nothing that I thought I wanted to read. I blame it on too many bad movies in my teens, but I changed my mind when I came across the Love and Decay novella series and then this. It's a Zombie short that is surprisingly poignant, written in such a way that you see beyond the usual horror and gore to the people, the relationships, the hope for the future despite the hopeless situation.If you love Zombie lit then it's absolutely for you. If not then I would definitely recommend you give it a go because it will surprise you and may even change your mind and open you up to a whole new genre. It's free on kindle unlimited at the moment but still good value at the current selling price for those who've not got this.

A mother who was bitten by zombies a day ago is slowly turning into one herself. But who will care for her eight-month-old' when she turns? With no one else to rely on, she ventures forth out of her rural home, hoping to find someone to care for her child before she completely transforms into what she hates the most. As her body and mind slowly deteriorate, she struggles mightily, desperately trying to cling to her humanity to prevent herself from harming her son. It's a grueling and searing portrait of a mother willing to do anything to save her child while resonating with emotional power as she battles her increasingly primeval, baser instincts.I originally read this short story when it was published in The Z Chronicles (The Future Chronicles), an anthology filled with many more excellent zombie stories just like this one! =)

Therefore leveraging a book of this calibre provides you with a significant competitive advantage.Three key takeaways from the book:1. The first thing that struck me was the size, it's about the dimensions of a folded roadmap, By sharon burton I obtained this book via Goodreads Giveaway.The first thing that struck me was the size, it's about the dimensions of a folded roadmap, making it perfect to stash in your glove box on the Saturday rounds of flea market and yard sale outings.The first thing that struck my 4-yo granddaughter was the pictures, it's full of helpful pictures. She was especially taken with the sections on Barbies and videogames. Lord help me, I think she's going to make at least a portion of her Christmas list from this book.I liked that it had helpful hints throughout, in colored cartoon bubbles, and that it lists prices for many of the items, so people don't get taken advantage of.Be aware that it is small print, and required my reading glasses...but then, it would have to be small to put all that in a size that would fit in a man's back pocket, right?It was extremely well written and I think "Picker's Pocket Guide - Toys: How to Pick Antiques Like a Pro" makes a nice addition to one's home library reference shelf.

By Amazon Customer I downloaded this free ebook because Thomas Huxley is so famous as one of the great popularizers of the theory of evolution in the days when people thought that it needed to be popularized.His style is indeed lovely and balanced, as the style of an 'educated' Englishman of his day normally was. However, once or twice he forgets that clarity is more important than balance.He also sometimes forgets to be careful of his own thesis, that scientific dogma can change. He writes as an obvious fact that the Early Christians either believed that the Hebrew Bible was literally true or not, but not both, and that there is no possibility in the middle. It's possible that this would have been obvious to some of the weaker students of Aristotle, but it is not at all obvious to some modern authors; take a look at what Huizinga writes in *Homo Ludens*, for example. He claims that "primitive" peoples often believe simultaneously that their "myths" are literally true and not so. If Huxley would have therefore concluded that Huizinga was either an idiot or insane, so much the worse for Huxley.

I quickly discovered it shows a different way of casting on and knitting. I have found far more help and information and patterns on Pintrest. Don't waste your money.....
