Achieve a healthy skin with homemade soaps By Shiela Francisco I am a fan of organic and DIY products and also a fan of soaps so upon learning about this book, I immediately wanted to read it. Soaps with synthetic ingredients are harmful to the skin so it's nice to know that we can make our own home-made organic soap that are much healthier for the skin. This book gave lots of useful information regarding the different methods in making a soap and the recipe for various soaps. The instructions are easy to follow and I think I can make my own in no time. I will definitely recommend this book to all soap lovers out there.

By anonyea3 This book has all the elements...humor, suspense, life lessons and great characters...and, in my opinion, would make a great animated film. With some of the author's descriptions (many, many of them), the suspense was so intense and her choice of words and phrasing so precise, that I found myself wondering if she had personally been swept up in huge ocean waves before, for instance. I often found myself so involved with the situation, I would forget that it wasn't me that it was happening to. Good story, good read.

A very creative life and death struggle By Win Gould Meant for young adults, this oldster was amazed by the creativity surrounding Callie's dreamlike subconscious struggle to survive an accident and to find herself. Middle schoolers might like it, too. Ms. Sardegna is wise, has a great way with words, and is very clever. It became absolutely convincing at a surprisingly deep level psychologically and literarily.

This book was a great read, and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys outdoor life. It covers a young man's journey as his family picks up and moves west. It contains many twists and great deal of action including many brushes with Indians and a good deal of hunting adventures. I'm now reading another novel by the same author.Read this; it's free anyway. I don't write many reviews, but this book deserves a good word and none have yet been written here.

The author fills in his lack of knowledge about the western expansion days of the United States with colloquial pictures he probably read in someone else's dime novels. It is just very difficult to translate American experience into British story telling. The eventual, prevailing hero is a Brit who shows those dumb Irish-Americans how to survive, time after time.

By Pat After reading the above text, I found the book to be informative and the introductions extremely helpful in better understanding the chapters which also include poetry essays from Eastern Classics such as, Avicenna and Sadi.The text materials are organized in a chronological order from early times of Origen to modern times which includes a chapter on Bernadette and the Miracles at Lourdes. Essays include well known contributors to theological thought such as, Catherine of Sienna and Pope Leo XIII and his contribution to the poor as well as labor conditions in industrial world are examples of true humanism at its best. The chapter on Morgan Campbell's impact on convincing British parliament to take drastic steps to help the Jews during the holocaust of World War II was most courageous, inspirational, and heart-warming.The essays demonstrate a great deal of humanism and overall it is an excellent reference book to keep and read over and over for years to come.

About the Author About Us GARY CARNOW has been a classroom teacher, administrator, author and educational consultant. Dr. Carnow specializes in administrative and instructional technologies, grants and funding procurement, instructional program development, emerging technologies, makerspaces and 3D printing. He has consulted for major hardware and software computer companies and has written extensively for Tech&Learning magazine. He was one of the first educators to provide content for AOL and the Scholastic Network. Beverly and Gary have written educational materials together for over twenty-five years. BEVERLY ELLMAN is an educator who has enjoyed wearing many different hats. She has been a classroom teacher, an author of educational publications and an educational product developer. She has co-taught several classes which combined poetry and multimedia through UCLA extension with Joyce Koff. In addition, Joyce and Beverly have worked together presenting educational workshops to various elementary and middle school teachers. She has enjoyed watching the enthusiasm, energy, and creativity sparked in students as they experience learning and master STEM content. JOYCE KOFF is a poet and a teacher. Her work has been published in numerous poetry journals and she has taught in elementary and middle schools in her self-created program. Joyce makes the reading, understanding and writing of poetry accessible to all students and these methods are applied in this book. As resident poet at Coeur d’Alene Elementary School in Venice, California, she has been teaching poetry for over 25 years and was part of the art’s team that was awarded the prestigious Los Angeles Music Center’s Bravo Award. SIAN BOWMAN has never lost the giddy excitement she experienced as child when drawing and painting. After graduating from Aberystwyth University with a Masters in Fine Art, specializing in children's book illustration, she started freelancing as an illustrator. She is in her element working on picture books and educational books for children. She finds inspiration for her characters in walking her wonderful, cheeky whippet, Jet, through the countryside of Mid Wales - where her imagination can wander. We are using the methods and techniques with our 5 grandchildren and they love them. The activities are fun and challenging. Never thought a few of the children would enjoy poetry as much as are. Opens up so many avenues of learning and allows them to explore technology as well. Thank you to the authors for their continued updated materials.. Each lesson can be easily differentiated to meet the learning needs of all students By Taya's Kindle As a 4th grade teacher, I found these lessons to be relevant, practical, engaging, and comprehensive. Students were challenged academically and creatively by the several components to each lesson. For example, in honor of Memorial Day students learned the significance of the poem, "In Flanders Fields" and created and red poppies, which they wore all day to honor those who served and died for our country. Each lesson can be easily differentiated to meet the learning needs of all students. I would highly recommend this book for educators who are looking for new, innovative, and creative lessons that can be easily implemented in the classroom.
