By Jackie Cooper This book contains 63 gorgeous timeless Paisley patterns and designs, these elegant tear drop designs are of Iranian origin are thought to have first appeared during the 1500’s and are still popular today in Iran and Asia. The name Paisley comes from the town of Paisley in West Scotland where paisley designed textiles were produced in the 1800’s when the design became popular in Europe. When the Beatles started wearing Paisley shirts on stage in 1966 the popularity for Paisley patterns once again spread worldwide and became a favorite pattern of choice for my generation, the generation of love and hippies, this timeless pattern since its inception has never lost its appeal to generation after generation .The paisley pattern lends itself to any color scheme, from the bright psychedelic colors of my youth to royal blues and purples delicately embellished with golden and silver threads. These patterns are a joy to color and perfect for experimenting with techniques and color. These images will inspire you as they do me.1. 63 illustrations printed one per page (The back of each page is blank) on medium weight bright white paper.2. Each page is perforated for easy removal from the book.3. All Markers and some gel pens leak through the pages, I just place a sheet of paper under the page I am coloring to prevent damage to the next page.4. This book includes reprints of every single gorgeous image in “Dover Paisley Designs Coloring Book by Marty Noble” but printed one per page instead of front and back of each page, plus 33 other paisley images by Kelly A Baker and Robin J Baker from “Creative Haven Crazy Paisley Coloring Book”5. I'm kind of picky with my coloring books - I like high-quality paper, one-sided designs, as I prefer ultra fine tipped markers, and GOOD designs. I like intricate detail, but not *too* intricate -- you know, where you'd need a magnifying glass to color in the spaces. This book is excellent - it's a thick book with 63 designs. I love all the designs, so it's tough to decide what to color next. I typically stick with a color scheme that I make up on a whim -- I typically use 6 or 7 different colors in the scheme, and it seems to work out well for the designs in the book. There are a decent amount of leaves in many of the designs and if you're more of a 'realist' when coloring, like myself, you'll find that you'll have to use your greens a lot. This can be tough when you're consistently running out of your green gel pen colors!Take a look at my finished pages - I love looking at other people's finished work for both inspiration for future color schemes or just to see how someone else colored the same page. As you can see, I've finished a fair amount of pages in this book and I'll continue to add photos to my review as I finish them.

I tried other brands because of reviews but they were too small and not easy to rip out. I use coptic markers . I am buying these again.
