This book should be on the bookshelf of every plaintiffs' lawyer By Willie Chapman This book is the culmination of over twenty years of academic research on the evolution of tort law in Texas and how tort "reform" has affected the plaintiffs' practice and access to justice in tort cases in Texas. Stephen Daniels and Joanne Martin capture the actual impact of the decades long attack by corporate and insurance interests on the civil justice system - and they tell the story in a very readable and interesting manner. As Communications Director of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association I was an informational resource for their research. From that perspective I gained the utmost respect for their work. The book should be a must-read for plaintiffs' lawyers not only in Texas, but across the nation.
