I very rarely say this about a book, but there wasn't anything I would change about it! It had mystery/suspense, humor, action, shifters, paranormal abilities, and steamy romance. The heroine was smart, caring, protective, determined, and strong. The hero was powerful, smart, protective, and supportive. The romance wasn't rushed, but slowly grew. The author didn't hurry the story along, but rather gave enough detail to enhance the story without bogging it down with too much description. The secondary characters were wonderful and they were easy to keep track of. This is part of a series, but it isn't necessary to read them in order. There is a HEA for the main couple and no cliff hanger. There are a couple of hints of things to come in future stories. I can't wait for more stories in the Shifters Unlimited series!

I want more NOW!" and I know I have found a new author to follow. Why did I say this? I felt like it ended like a cliff hanger. I had some closure but the upcoming events had answers to questions that were setting up in this book. I like the depth of development of the society in which the main characters are in. Very well thought out and well integrated into the story line.I like that several supporting characters also developed and grew. What I felt like was a major question or challenge for the new couple was left with nothing but a teaser at the end. Now I have to read the next book. However, I will not spoil it for you. Go read it for yourself and you will see.Normally in a romance novel either you have too much plot and not enough "personal time" or it is all sex and barely a step above a porno. This romance novel was exceptionally balanced. There was a good plot and a good amount of tasteful detailed sex. Not crude barely porno material which I abhor in a romance novel.I had no trouble visualizing the scenes which unfolded smoothly. Didn't really see the plot twist coming. The book did lag for a few pages until the plot twist was unveiled. I knew something was up because I was not finished yet.Now I just have to check for any more by this author. If this is the first by this author I am gonna scream in frustration. That would mean I would have to wait for the next book to come out. I am impatient for a good book.Also, here is an important disclaimer: I received the book for free through Reading Deals, in exchange for an honest review.

I love them, but it is sometimes hard to find a shifter story with substance. This one has it in spades, and it drew me in from page one. The Alpha Deacon and the retired ranger Lena was not your girl meets shifter, mate and the end. It was a complex story of the clan, the background of the Alpha Deacon, Lena, and others. The struggles and the strengths of Deacon and Lena are woven throughout the book. There was a beginning and an HEA for the heroes, but I am looking forward to reading more in the "Shifters Unlimited Series". This is the first book I have read by KH LeMoyne, and I look forward to reading more. I was gifted this book for an honest review. I very seldom give a 5 star review, but this one warrants it in MHO.
