Having been in strategy consulting myself for 5 years, I feel this book provides a great overview to the necessary soft skills and behavior junior consultants need to develop. As graduates in consulting usually bring very good hard skills, i.e., technical knowledge from uni with them, they underestimate the social dynamics and the soft challenges consulting poses to everyday live. In this respect, the author provides background on how and why typical situations in consulting occur, encourages to reflect from a third person perspective to build and understanding and provides useful initial suggestions in how to deal with them.Many other consulting books focus on consulting technical skills, e.g., frameworks, project management, sales, but less so on the dynamics of the consulting every day live. As such, this is a useful and highly recommended addition to the bookshelf of every soon-to-be consultant and junior consultants.The book is an easy read, well written and can be read in a short time frame. I recommend this book highly.

Some years ago the Smithsonian Institution printed a small vocabulary of the Chinook Jargon, furnished by Dr. B.R. Mitchell, of the U.S. Navy, and prepared, as we afterwards learned, by Mr. Lionnet, a Catholic priest, for his own use while studying the language at Chinook Point. It was submitted by the Institution, for revision and preparation for the press, to the late Professor W.W. Turner. Although it received the critical examination of that distinguished philologist, and was of use in directing attention to the language, it was deficient in the number of words in use, contained many which did not properly belong to the Jargon, and did not give the sources from which the words were derived.

Through the Veil By Wendy Marie If you are interested in the "What if" and "What would it be like" in regards to the after life, then this book offers a beautiful and thoughtful vision of what that might be...Highly recommended and I intend to read it to my older relatives as they approach Crossing the Veil themselves. Beautifully non-denominational and transcends the dogma or restrictions of specific spiritual traditions but encompasses all with warmth and love. A God of truth and love could only smile at this travelogue of his "house of many mansions."

By AntoinetteM Curled up on a rainy Sunday, I devoured in one sitting, Soul of the Sea, the final instalment of Melanie Leavey's gorgeous Sea Glass Trilogy.And I remain, still, curled inside this story, sharing imaginary hearth side cuppas with Leavey's wonderful island characters.Leavey's story is filled with riches both mythic and real. The human world collides with that of old Celtic gods, fairies, selkies, witches, and magic. A tale of myth and magic, Soul of the Sea weaves together beautifully, the story threads and characters of the first two tales in the trilogy. It is also a tale of everyday magic that is found in friendship, community and connection with others. A tale about recognising our own gifts and their true value ,however small and insignificant they may seem to us.The characters in the story are believable, and written with such warmth and earthy humour. The dialogue snaps along, filled with the rich colour and rhythm of its island setting. Leavey's writing is vividly redolent with the smell of the sea and freshly brewed tea. I felt welcomed into her story, and a part of its fabric. And I chuckled with glee to read of gods and fairies chatting together over mugs of tea, and bottles of home-brewed mead.Reading this delightful tale left me longing to remain with the characters of Glencarragh, and with even more love and respect for the power of story, for the earth and its wild places. And for the deep myth and magic that resides there, as well as in our own hearts. A truly wonderful finale to a fab fantasy trilogy.AntoinetteM

The story follows the tragic downfall of the wealthy, powerful, generous Timon, as his financial collapse drives him to madness. The story is very depressing, but it is very insightful with powerful character development.
