0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. One Word: Enchanting By Alicia Cain I received Wrath of the Urkuun as a Christmas present. Having read and loved Age of the Seer, I was all set to dive into reading; unfortunately, Wrath of the Urkuun sat on my dresser for several months due to priority schoolwork. After too long of a wait, I was finally able to crack open my new book - and I was mad at myself for not having done so sooner. I watched as Ahiram (and others) developed in character, and characters just as captivating were introduced (including my current favorite, Aquilina). The plot grew thicker and deeper; questions from the first book were answered just as fast as more were raised. It was very hard to put the book down and return to reality. I gasped at Bahiya's revelation, shed a tear over Noraldeen's sacrifice, and held my breath during the battle scene close to the end. I closed the book feeling slightly upset that there were no more pages to read. Book Three cannot come fast enough!

Boy was I in for a surprise. This book is very, very different, but in a good way. The pace is much faster. We get to see the history behind some of the characters. This book is much more action packed than the first. I am not saying I did not enjoy Age of the Seer, I really liked it. But I LOVE this book. I am mesmerized and enchanted with the plot, the characters, the whole fantastical world that Murano had created. I am a big fan of fantasy so I know that it is incredibly difficult to make up a whole new world from scratch. Michael Joseph Murano makes it look effortless. In the world of Ahiram there are no contradictions or confusions, rather this world is thought out and totally unique. I definitely recommend reading this.

And the second book delivered what I was expecting and more. I've read quite a bit of Brandon Sanderson, Robert Jordan, Orson Scott Card, and other high fantasy and sci-fi epics, and the Epic of Ahiram has so far held it's ground amongst all of them with just the right balance between witty discussions, action, and romance. Sure, I know some people aren't fans of the way dwarves speak. I get it. It took me a while to get used to that, and I do admit that I'm guilty of sometimes skimming when there are long segments of nothing but dwarves speaking. But I think that's one aspect that shows the uniqueness of the world Murano has created amongst all the other fantasy books out there. I'll be buying the next book, and the book after that, and the book after that. I can't wait.

Great tool for teaching children (and reminding ourselves) that looks are not important... we all look different and we are all important. Also teaches respect for the "older" members of our society and the importance of taking care of seniors, whatever their "species". Very funny photographs and a sweet story.... children will love it! Highly recommend this book. Plus a portion of the sales supports a Golden Retriever rescue organization... How can you lose by purchasing this book, and the others in Lisa Domeny's series?

Learned a few things, the book also reminded me of few gardening tasks I'd forgotten to do. My Adult Ed. beginning gardeners could use this information. The book starts with-Tip #1."Gardening isn’t easy. It may be simple, but don’t get that confused with easy. You will come across a number of obstacles, from pests to bad weather. Just remember that nature laughs last and don’t get too attached to any one plant. Be patient with yourself and enjoy the journey.Tip # 2. There is a lot to learn. Be ready..." Starting at the first point, the book moves on to explain gardening in detail. Great books bring the reader ways to succeed and for the experienced gardeners, a way to broaden their gardening skills that they may have missed. While I didn't agree with a few points, I agreed with 98% of his advice. Liked it.

My android app is coming along By Richard Evans I have been referencing this a lot lately while trying to build out my new Android app. I pretty much only had the framework done and I have been using this to help piece together my puzzle. The app is still not fully functional but with the help of this it has come a long way from a few days ago.

About the Author A writing teacher and book editor since 1988, Elizabeth Lyon is the author of half a dozen books on how to write, revise, and market novels and nonfiction. In 2013, she launched a booklet series to explore one topic at a time in greater depth. Booklet #1 is "Writing Subtext." Booklet #2 is "Crafting Titles." A reviewer for The Writer magazine selected "Manuscript Makeover" as one of “8 Great Writing Books in 2008,” and described it as “perhaps the most comprehensive book on revising fiction.” Lyon is also the author of "The Sell Your Novel Tool Kit," "Nonfiction Book Proposals Anybody Can Write," and others. Editing clients and students have sold their books to small, mid-sized, and large publishers; others have self-published. Elizabeth has long urged writers to complete the artistic circle, from idea to book to readers, whether by traditional publishing or on their own.

It discusses the importance of titles, breaks them down by category and subcategory (by place, theme, symbolism, figure of speech, the protagonist's name, etc.), analyzes each, provides examples from contemporary and classic literature, and then helps the reader fit their novel into a particular category. Included are tips on what to do if a title has been used by others, title suggestions for series, and how to work genre into a title.Although intended for novelists, this booklet would be useful for writers of short stories and possibly even non-fiction.

I got some ideas from it. It could have originated as a handout for a workshop, but there aren't a lot out there on how to title a book. It's written almost in outline format, so it's easy to skim through. It's ok, but not a repeat or recommended purchase. Half of titling a book these days is how the title will position itself on Amazon and other search engines - this part is not included.
