It was very short, although I'm really only complaining because I wish it would have been so much longer. It had vivid, relatable characters, an amazing adventure, a beautiful love story, sexy leading men, scorching hot scenes, and mind boggling landscape descriptions that were so creatively done, it was so realistically brought to life with clever wording, it almost felt like I was there in real life. I was instantly engaged with the story, and for me if that doesn't happen immediately, I can't finish reading the book; and along with this story and characters that it made it so it was so very hard to set down. I definitely didn't want to stop reading for a moment!! This Author is one to watch for and I will be willing to by anything other series that are this well written, they offer in the future!

It's like this action packed, steamy hyperventilating feel once you go through every page! I love how Lindsay Blanc takes your breathing pace into a relaxed tempo then into a crescendo that you just don't want to stop! I think I just fell in love with this series!

Ruby programming language supports multiple programming paradigms including object-oriented, procedural, imperative and functional.Thanks to this book, you will become an expert in this since you will be guided through the issues which are viewed as complex in python. The main reason why Ruby is liked by programmers is due to its simple syntax. I think this book to be one of the best programming language which I have found.

As I already have knowledge of programming languages like Java & C++ so learning Ruby is easy for me. I like to learn new languages of this computer world. This is step by step guide to install Ruby, how to create databases, what are array, hashes and syntax error. I learned how to execute code. Now I understand basics and can solve different problems and errors. This is very helpful for me. Must recommended.

Vicky Grubb is a textile specialist (aka fabric hoarder) and professional upholsterer who takes commissions and teaches beginner's workshops. It's pretty thick with action while it asks questions about ethics. This one moves fast, and now I have to get the next one in the series. Like, right now, as I write this. Aaaaaaaaaand ... I just did.I could use more commas and apostrophes in some places. It's just a proofreading thing. My day job, so I can't un-see it. Otherwise, the action scenes are fun and the human interaction is nicely a step down in tone from the action stuff.

The applicable questions at the end of each chapter are unique and personal to the reader. This tool is a must for the individual or group study.

What role do genetics play in our development as individuals? Is it worth compromising free will to protect the greater good? And if violence is genetic, does free will even really exist?This was definitely a page turner and I spent a few nights reading well into the a.m. The character development and oppressive setting reminded me of Ender's Game. Despite the Orwellian environment, I found the message to be refreshingly hopeful.

Science fiction that casts light on the grim side of today's reality By Mal Warwick Dystopian fiction seeks to illuminate the consequences of the bad choices we make today. Goodhouse follows in this tradition by extrapolating into the late 21st Century the intersection of two of America’s most troublesome present-day realities: our counterproductive criminal justice system, which does a great job training young people for lives of crime, and the hubris of a scientific community that seeks to predict human behavior by reading our DNA. As author Peyton Marshall reveals in the Acknowledgments, the “Goodhouse” where most of the action takes place in her novel is modeled on the notorious Preston Youth Correctional Facility, a juvenile rehabilitation center closed by the State of California only in 2011.In Peyton Marshall’s dark-hued future America, the country is engaged in an endless war overseas while on the brink of civil war at home. On one side are the officials who maintain the nationwide network of Goodhouses, where young men tagged as having criminal tendencies are raised from an early age in draconian conditions sure to bring out the worst in them. (“There was no Goodhouse equivalent for girls. The same markers in women were not predictive of criminal behavior . . .”) On the other side are the revolutionary Zeros, who stage massive attacks to annihilate the Goodhouses and all those who live within them because “[t]hey wanted to purify, to cleanse. They didn’t believe in reforming us.”The novel tells the story of “James Goodhouse” — his birth name and origins have been suppressed, like those of all his thousands of fellows — and the trajectory he follows from the equivalent of a low-security youth facility where he was a model citizen to what can only be described as a prison. The Goodhouse shelters a totalitarian mini-society where James is physically and psychologically abused by the former inmates now in positions of power over him.When James is given a rare opportunity to leave the Goodhouse for a day, he meets Bethany, a gravely ill young woman who lives with her mother outside the walls in a home that represents an idyllic world for him. James lives in a corrective school for boys with criminal genes. Genetic profiling is meant to prevent crime; so these boys are all taught to control the possible criminal tendencies which lurk within them. However, the Goodhouse is, in reality, a brutal and oppressive place where class leaders and proctors abuse their charges under the watchful eyes of Headmaster Tanner.James has been in the Goodhouse system since he was three and was given a new name. His last school burnt down and, gradually, the story of what happened that night unfolds. However, when we first meet James he is going to a Community Day with a family, to help integrate him into society. During the courseof that day he meets Bethany from whom he, inadvertently, takes a hair barrette. This ‘theft’ is uncovered on his return and leads to his future plans being altered. He had hoped to escape the system – had even dreamt of a job, a marriage license, an apartment… Instead, he finds love, is involved in medical experiments and learns the truth about the system he has grown up in.This is a very interesting tale of a possible future world in which boys are criminalised by their family background. It also has interesting parallels with corrective institutions in which young boys are imprisoned and would be a good choice for book clubs, with lots to discuss. This is a future we can easily identify with, full of gated communities, tent cities, religious zealots and fear of the unknown. The author makes James, and his past, believable and sympathetic. Lastly, I received a copy of this book from the publishers, via NetGalley, for review.

Not to be missed SF classic By Claude Avary It sounds like a story you've heard before: great alien masters descend on Earth and take control of the world, ushering in a golden age that may be cleverly disguised creative slavery. But Clarke's legendary novel (equal to _Rendezvous with Rama_ and _2001: A Space Odyssey_ in fame) isn't about a human rebellion against alien overlords, but the evolution of humanity into its next stage, and the ultimate dwarfing power of the unknowable order of the cosmos. The narrative glides between different characters and different eons, occasionally with a seeming clumsiness that turns out to be purposeful plotting devices. The pay-off is sublime science-fiction poetry that shows the genre's power to transcend human drama and fly into the infinite. The sheer scope of its conclusions leaves the reader wiser and sadder, the sign of a superb novel.

Randall Author Arthur Charles Clarke is renowned as one of the greatest science fiction writers of all time. His "2001: A Space Odyssey", written with and filmed by Stanley Kubrick, is viewed as one of the seminal works in science fiction history. Obviously, Clarke didn't make his career out of one single book (and movie). He has been quite a prodigious, and proficient, writer. In addition to writing three sequels to the "2001" saga, he also wrote the best-selling "Rama" series, numerous single novels like "Hammer of God" and "Songs of Distant Earth", and untold numbers of short stories. His stories have won just about every conceivable award for this genre and have achieved the dual goal of garnering critical praise and popular approval. Of all his novels, though, it may be one of his earliest that still stands as his best."Childhood's End" was first published in 1953, a time when the cold war was in full form and people were beginning to truly look towards the stars for other life and possibilities for exploration. Current humanity will not be able to handle what is asked of them, but through the generations they can be evolved to be prepared to take their next step. "Childhood's End", in the space of a mere 224 pages tells the stories of the different steps of this evolution in an episodic manner that is rich in detail and profound in meaning. Clarke is fascinated by the potentials of human destiny. Sometimes, as with "Light of Other Days", he is not as successful in realizing that destiny as he is in other stories. "Childhood's End", though, extraordinarily realizes what humanity can become and its importance to strive towards that. "Childhood's End" is as relevant and compelling and novel in 2003 as it was in 1953.

To this day, it ranks as my favourite in the genre.The Overlords appear one day over every city on Earth, and with little resistance, mankind submits to the technologically superior race. After all, their demands are entirely benevolent; they seem to want no more than to end war, poverty, and the other evils that have always plagued the Earth. But why? Through three generations, a few people endeavour to find out.What they finally learn is something they never imagined: mankind's terrible and wonderful final destiny, and the part the mysterious Overlords are fated to play in achieving it.Many of Clarke's novels are somewhat lacking in character development, and though Childhood's End is not an extreme example of this tendency, some fairly important characters are only half-formed. In some books, this is a flaw, but when Clarke is truly in his element, the vagueness of the characters seems to work in the story's favour. Here, particularly, I found myself getting quite attached to characters it seemed I barely knew (including some of the enigmatic aliens).One feature I particularly liked in this book was the glimpse of the Overlords' home world, a tour of wonders that Clarke knows better than to try and explain in terms of known science, at least not with any detail. If anything, the mystery of it all makes the story-- and the Overlords-- seem more real.The ending, though inspiring from a certain angle, can be a downer in terms of the characters you come to know and like, no matter where your sympthies end up lying. Mine, in the end, fall with Karellen, the Overlord supervisor, who, like the other Overlord characters, manages to be thoroughly believable despite the fact that his background and motivations remain more or less a mystery.Science fiction is often infused with philosophy; this book pulls off the mixture better than any other I've read.

The variety of projects cover a wide range of skill levels, from novice to pro, even some that would be great for children to make. I loved how vibrant the book is and how the projects and instructions are laid out. They are very easy to follow. This book is a very fun addition to any craft and sewing library. It will ignite your imagination and even inspire you to come up with more ways to repurpose and reuse! I loved this book so much, I decided I needed to buy a second to share with a friend.

About the Author Welcome to my author page, and thank you for coming!My whole life I had a large imagination. When I played, with my Legos or running around outside with my friends, it wasn't just playing. I was in a different place, I was making worlds. I would dream up stories and settings, where I would normally be the lead, or at least be looking through their eyes. I had been a visual entertainment consumer for much of my life, even though most of my gaming consisted of role playing games, of a heavily text base nature. Not having the visual feedback was a different feel. Im only on chapter 3 but I will edit it this post as I read more. But kudos to Mark he is simply an outstanding author!.EDIT: This book is an incredibly crafted masterpiece from a new, exquisite,and quite frankly amazing author. Every single on of his books I have fallen in love with! Also some people read his books and are like oh he misspelled a word big deal get over it ,take the full composition and then you have a say on if it's good or bad. Which it's obviously good.-SPOILER ALERT- Scroll down for itOk seriously adding Terra giving some tiny details and then she gets kidnapped that was an amazing move! Seriously I'm ready for the next book. It would have been nice for some extra details on the Foremid. Great story I'm excited for the next one!!

Nos ha ayudado para que los niños aprendan de manera sencilla los números romanos.
