The tips and tricks from this book helped me to identify the mistakes that have been making repeatedly over years. The tips to save money from grocery shopping, tips to pay off debts, cutting unnecessary expenses etc are my favorites. The diy canning book have a lot of simple recipes of jams and jellies which can be made during the season when the price is low and can enjoy them through out the year. Preserving tips for meat and soups are also very good. I enjoyed reading this box set.

But, no matter how much I try to squeeze my self to save some money my budget would not change at the end of the month. The handy tips on saving money on food and drinks were simple to follow. The energy conserving ways seems to work fine. The ideas of garage and yard sale, barter trading, half price etc are worth considering. The difference between frugal and being minimalist is well said. I found the tips and tricks from both the books helpful in downsizing. Hopefully I would save more money from now on.

There are many useful tips for saving money and making some saving for future security. The second book has inspired me to do canning at home trying more recipes, before we had just few favorites, but here I’ve got several really good ones , will try for sure next harvest season.

A lot of good information for pimping questions and for studying for shelf. I found this much more useful than surgical recall.Also this book includes a code for access to the material online through an app called inkling. The format of this is even better than the book and you can access it from your phone, ipad etc. It was easy to scroll through a section during downtime between surgeries.If you are debating about getting it, I would recommend to get it, use the codes and then sell the book to someone else. I think you can get a free sample chapter from inkling to try first.

I'm a surgical PA studying for my recert for the second time. First time under the surgical option. Questions are directed at the step 3 level for the MD side of the house and are exactly directed for the surgical PA. Not sure if it will pertain to my board recert or not, since I take it in July. I'm certain that it will help with the exam. As well as prepare me for advancement in my current job.

Within days he already mastered it and work with his co-workers to fix some problem they had at work. I would give this book to anyone that needs to learn VBScript fast and easy. If my son was happy with it then I'm happy with it.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Be cautious if ordering this book for beginners. By multitude Only advance programmers can spot the errors in this book when referring to code. For the beginners, they might be pulling their hair out trying to find out why some of the examples are not working. Be very cautious when ordering this pamphlet of 54 pages. Also, understand that even though the title and cover do not mention it, this vbscript literature is catered when working with HTML. I had to modify examples for vbscripts using a .vbs extension, but still some html examples are flawed.If you do get this, only get it as an e-book as you should not pay more than $3 for this. The physical books offered are way over priced, especially when you see the amount of errors published. With a little proof reading and corrections, this book can have a value of $7 but no more.

First of all, the instructions are very clear, with beautiful photos of exact details. Second, there is none of the annoying stuff so when you start on a project in the middle of the book the instructions are complete with no need to turn back to previous projects and jumping back and forth. I did my first project and it turned out perfectly and I will do them all. The attention to detail is what sets this book apart. I recently bought a much more expensive book on doll clothes written by a leading name in the field, and was so disappointed when I saw that in many of the photos the doll shoes were on the wrong feet! What does that say about the instructions? I look forward to trying one of the author's other books to see if they are all this good.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. A Thought Provoking Must Read! By Chris G. "Excellent Beauty" explores the naturalness of religion and the unnaturalness of our world. The author suggests and supports the premise that religion is an important part of our evolution as a species. Religion has provided us with a sense of community, a social network, and a moral guide. On this Earth, fraught with danger, individuals who banded together as a religious community were better able to survive. We have an intrinsic need to be spiritual, to be ( or sense that we are) in control, and believe that our lives matter. Although I attend church regularly, Dr. Dietrich's book appealed to me, as I am also a doubter. My church does not believe in evolution. I do. I also can agree with him that prayers are not always answered and praying is not reliable. I still pray. As the author says , religion is part of our nature. We need to explain events and what caused them. We attempt to make sense of our existence. A world without some type of force in charge feels chaotic, even scary, but the world is scary and it often seems that no one is out there. Dr. Dietrich is of the opinion that religion has served its purpose in the evolutionary cycle. It does good for some, but much evil in religion's name. Science, on the other hand, is reliable and available to everyone, not just a selected group. It deals with hard facts that can be proven and also offers mysteries yet to be solved. The world's mysteries or " excellent beauties " should fuel our sense of wonder much more so than supernatural mysteries or ideas of an afterlife that have no factual basis. For example, I was amazed that we only know about 4% of what the universe is made of, while 96% is made of dark matter and dark energy, ( mysterious stuff)! You will have to discover the other "excellent beauties" yourself . This is our world to both care for and appreciate. I totally agree with Dt. Dietrich quoting Ghandi, " Be the change you seek in the world". Don't wait for God to do it for you.

This is an engaging book By Amazon Customer This book seems an update of Pascal Boyer's Religion Explained with a little bit of Sam Harris' Waking Up. It is also a reflection of Stephen Jay Gould's non-overlapping Magisteria. We have both religion and science in us and can't get rid of either one, we need both satisfied. But so then how do we do this? The engagement of folks like Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens (may he rest in peace), seem to disregard the human need for religious satisfaction. Sam Harris and Daniel Dennett seem to both recognize this and engage aspects of religion that are important to us. This is an engaging book.

By Douglas A terrific book and well worth the read, with a few caveats: Many of Dietrich’s findings & conclusions about religion are summary and pat. He does not explore, for example, the concept or ramifications of the Atonement, nor the concept of Earth as a learning/testing ground for humanity, where not every illness is cured or injustice righted (D&C 122: 7 And if thou shouldst be cast into the pit, or into the hands of murderers, and the sentence of death passed upon thee; if thou be cast into the deep; if the billowing surge conspire against thee; if fierce winds become thine enemy; if the heavens gather blackness, and all the elements combine to hedge up the way; and above all, if the very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good. 8 The Son of Man hath descended below them all. Art thou greater than he?)This book will especially resonate with Mormon readers who will recognize, on the one hand, the outlines of Joseph Smith’s expansive cosmology in the Excellent Beauties (Moses 1: 33 And worlds without number have I created; and I also created them for mine own purpose; and by the Son I created them, which is mine Only Begotten. 34 And the first man of all men have I called Adam, which is many. 35 But only an account of this earth, and the inhabitants thereof, give I unto you. For behold, there are many worlds that have passed away by the word of my power. And there are many that now stand, and innumerable are they unto man; but all things are numbered unto me, for they are mine and I know them.)On the other hand the LDS reader will also notice, in absurd abundance, those weaknesses and contradictions Dietrich reviews that plague no Christian offshoot more than Mormonism, which is perhaps the final and most advanced Christian permutation. In addition to the paucity of evidence supporting general Christian traditions and positions, Mormonism suffers a complete lack of corroborating evidence of a more specific nature. Its founding scripture, The Book of Mormon, ostensibly a history of Native America, lacks archaeological, linguistic or genetic confirmation of any kind. The Book of Abraham, ostensibly a translation of Egyptian papyri written by Abraham and "translated" by Joseph Smith, has no relationship whatsoever to the original document, which appears to be funerary.Then there’s the infamous Mormon hierarchy, utterly stereotypical in its reactionary politics, male chauvinism, racism (at least until relatively recently), and virulent anti-gay positions, which (as exemplified by the Church’s leading role in the Prop 8 fiasco) has led directly to thousands of LDS suicides. Until only the last few years, members of the ruling quorums considered sexual orientation a choice that one consciously makes and can therefore unmake. I don't consider this inspired thinking.

A good read, but could have been a lot better By Archiver This is much better than Southall’s “From Me to You,” and Hollies fans will find a worthwhile read, but:1. The book lacks any insight into, or appreciation for, the Hollies’ music. Southall may well be a fan of the group, but reading this book, you’d never know it. It reads like a dry textbook.2. Lack of input from most group members causes Eric Haydock (who was booted from the band in 1966) to be very over-represented here. And was it really necessary to leave in his numerous expletives? He probably said them in talking to Southall, but they could have been edited out without diminishing the content.3. The book barely touches on album tracks and the evolution (no pun intended) of the Hollies’ music. It also omits some key points in the group’s history, such as the complete omission of the “Take My Love and Run” single. Details about the group’s later years are sparse, and Southall’s comments about the Hall of Fame induction ceremony are at best confusing and will mean little to those who did not see it.4. While the editing errors here are fewer than those in “From Me to You,” one wonders if anyone actually reads this material before it’s published. Possessives are largely and annoyingly missing, and there are numerous typos (one amusing one: “dong” instead of “doing”) and missing words. Southall gets the title of their first single wrong repeatedly, too. It was “(Ain’t That) Just Like Me,” not “(Ain’t) That Just Like Me.”The book would have benefitted from a co-writer who knows more about the Hollies and their music, as well as from an editor with some knowledge of grammar, but it does have its merits.

Dolmetsch Good but not as thorough as one would expect in a musical biography today! Many important developments in the earliest history of the Hollies are either omitted or simply glossed over. Also it would have been helpful to have a little more analysis of each album in the progression of the band. The first two albums were very much the product of "what we sing on stage" which was overwhelmingly covers of familiar r&b songs. The third LP marked the first true progression for the band into two styles: folk as rock (e.g. "Very Last Day") and strong self-composed songs that transcended simple pop. While hit singles, often composed by others, were the bread-and-butter of the Hollies for more than three years, they stretched in the EP and album fields into ever more complex and distinctive musical formats Banjos, folk, changeable tempos, all became hallmarks of the Hollies. I miss a lot of explanation into the motivation and design in the narrative here. This book is *a good introduction* into the Hollies story but it is by no means *the definitive* story of one of British rock's most remarkable bands.

My wife and I love tinkering in the kitchen and this book will definitely come in handy. The book shows techniques that can us more efficient in the kitchen. The tips and techniques are not difficult and we especially liked that the author included some kitchen cleaning tips. This was a fruitful read. I will pass this on to my wife.

Even the experienced cooks, can find this book worth reading. Finding easier ways to make your kitchen, a room you enjoy working in. I need to get more copies of this book, for my adult children, and grandchildren , and some for my great-grandchildren, for when they get their first home.

About the Author Roger R. Hock, PhD, is a professor of psychology and human sexuality at Mendocino College in northern California. He received his MA in Psychology from San Diego State University and his PhD in Psychology from the University of California at San Diego. He is also the author of Forty Studies that Changed Psychology: Explorations into the History of Psychological Research (Pearson, 2012) and coauthor (with Meg Kennedy Dugan) of It’s My Life Now: Starting over after an Abusive Relationship or Domestic Violence (Routledge, 2006), and (with Amy Marin) Psychology, a digital introductory psychology textbook from Pearson Education. Dr. Hock has been teaching psychology and human sexuality for over twenty-five years. Human Sexuality is his favorite class to teach and is consistently one of the most popular among students. He believes that Human Sexuality is an essential course for college students because the topics covered are fundamental to our lives and our identities as humans. I loved the story of Serenity and Sebastian as each book unfolded. "Alone" the first book of the series was the first book by Marissa Farrar that I had read and now when I read one of her books its like coming home and being part of a family I settle into her books so quickly, I really love her style of writing. I highly recommend the series.

She's an abused spouse, who is forced to support her dead beat husband. Due to his abuse she loses her job and her life spirals out of control and sets a new course for her. She then meets Sebastian. He's the perfect hunk of a vampire and gives our heroine the wake-up call she's been needing. Mrs. Farrar creates a tantalizing story that leaves you wanting more.BuriedBook 2 finds Serenity four years later and she is a survivor. I love that she has grown. She has grown both stronger mentally and physically and mentally. She is building a life for herself. She's not free of her ex-husband though. He still haunts her and Sebastian returns to her life. There is a major cliff hanger at the end of this book. This is a great series.CapturedBook 3 finds Sebastian and Jackson at odds for Serenity. We are introduced to Demetri and we learn more about Elizabeth. Ms. Farrar seamlessly weaves the tales together and keeps the reader intrigued. You stay on the edge of your seat excited to flip the page to see what is in store.DominionBook 4 jumps us eight years since the first book. Natasha is now out for revenge. We meet Iona and her circle. We learn all about Dominion and see that Elizabeth is growing in power. The author continues to draw the reader into the series. There is a surprise death that has future consequences and new friendships are forged. This series is amazing.EndlessThe action never stops with this book. It is very fast paced. Old faces come back, friends our lost, and friends our found. This conclusion to the series ties up the love between Sebastian and Serenity nicely and leaves a wide open arena for Elizabeth. I'd love to series about Iona as well. I'm excited to see that Mrs. Farrar has already began writing a series for Elizabeth. She's an excellent author. Highly recommend this series.

Their relationship is then hampered by a jealous, powerful rival - will there be a happy ending?Book 2 - BuriedFantastic follow up to Alone. Absolutely gripping - the tension had me practically holding my breath at times as well as gasping at the horrific killings. Brilliant cliffhanger ending had me immediately turning to Book 3 in the series, Captured.Book 3 - CapturedBook 2, Buried, ended on such a cliffhanger I just had to go straight on to Book 3, Captured! Did not disappoint at all, yet more twists & gripping tension, this had me cheering, biting my nails and crying as well as wanting more, roll on Book 4!Book 4 - DominionIt's been a while since I read the first three books in the series (so many books to read, so little time etc.) but when Marissa offered a Christmas thank you to fans I gratefully received a copy of Dominion. As always with Marissa's books Dominion was a really tense rollercoaster ride, an action packed page turner with some interesting new characters introduced into the mix, hopefully it won't be too long before I'm finding out what happens next!Book 5 – EndlessA fantastic end to a fantastic series. Once again I was gripped by the storytelling, with plenty of action from start to finish. Elizabeth’s struggle with the unexpected changes in her life are heart rending, will the unswerving love of her parents be enough to save her? I must admit to being rather concerned about the storm scene at the pier, old enemies with a grudge can be very dangerous!
